Il y a maintenant six mois, les Danois de Dignitas remerciaient leur leader charismatique Henrik "FeTiSh" Christensen après quelques mois à ses côtés et son précédent kick de chez les actuels TSM. A l'époque, ils avaient décidé de se tourner vers Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen pour reprendre le lead bien que ce dernier ne soit pas spécialement connu pour occuper ce poste.

Depuis cette arrivée Dignitas n'a cessé de progresser en proposant un jeu intéressant et arrivant petit à petit à s'imposer comme une équipe solide du top 10 mondial. Ils ont notamment obtenu un top 3 lors de la Copenhagen Games, un top 3-4 lors de la DreamHack Tours et du GFINITY Masters Summer I ou encore une huitième place dans la poule européenne de l'ESL ESEA Pro League.

Tout se passait plutôt bien du côté des Danois et il ne faisait aucun doute qu'ils se qualifieraient logiquement pour l'ESL One Cologne, d'autant plus qu'ils avaient un excellent seed et le statut de favori numéro 1. C'était sans compter leur défaite en match décisif contre Kinguin (16-8) et le manque de sang-froid lors du match de la dernière chance contre Flipsid3. Les coéquipiers de Jacob "Pimp" Winneche se sont effondrés sur Mirage après un side CT très solide avec 12 rounds inscrits mais ils n'ont pas réussi à développer leur jeu, laissant flipsid3 remonter et l'emporter en overtime. Un echec terrible pour une formation qui a touché la qualification de très près.

Schneider, la solution pour Dignitas ?

Depuis, les résultats de l'équipe sont en dents de scie et ils n'ont obtenu qu'un top 4 lors de l'Acer Predator Masters et n'ont pas encore réussi à se qualifier pour la DH Stockholm qui distribuera les places pour le prochain major. Il leur reste une qualification pour obtenir leur ticket pour la DreamHack Cluj. Pour se faire ils ont décidé de changer un joueur en la personne de Nicolaj "Nico" Jensen. Le sniper est ainsi remercié après huit mois avec ses coéquipiers et il paye certainement son irrégularité devenue trop marquante aujourd'hui, bien loin de son niveau étincelant du début de CS:GO avec Western Wolves.

Pour le remplacer, les Danois font appel à un Suédois en la personne d'Andreas "schneider" Lindberg, vainqueur du premier major sur CS:GO et qui avait été remercié par fnatic il y a un peu plus d'un an. Depuis il n'avait pas réussi à rebondir, ses divers projets et tests chez mousesports, Property, Flipsid3 ou encore 1337 ayant globalement été des échecs. S'il a affiché un bon niveau durant cette année, il devra cette fois aussi travailler sa communication, le joueur ayant avoué ne comprendre qu'à 60/70% le Danois.

It's with mixed feelings we have to announce that Nico is no longer a part of Team Dignitas CS:GO division. It has been eight mixed months with Nico on the team, we've had ups, and most recently also a lot of down periods. In the end we felt that removing him from our active lineup was one of the drastic moves we had to make in order to re-adjust ourselves and once again be a team you can count on in the very top of CS:GO. Therefore we also needed a strong replacement, which I strongly believe we have found in a former major title winner, and long time member of the top CS:GO scene. It's with great pleasure we welcome Schneider to our team, a player that for a long time has been left out in the cold, despite having great abilities in the game. We believe in him as the right choice for our team, adding more fire-power and allowing us to switch up some roles within the team. It will be a new expriance for all of us, as none of us have ever tried to play with anyone not speaking fluent Danish, but we strongly believe that barrier is more than just breakable, but also beneficial in the long run. I hope you all welcome him with open arms, and that you all will cheer for him, and our success in the future. We know that the last months have been rough on us, we haven't delivered what we should, losing out to teams that we shouldn't, hopefully this will be an end to it. We will nevertheless work hard for it to happen, and therefore we hope you're still with us out there!

I am really excited to have gotten this opportunity to play with in my eyes four really strong players that have the potential to be amongst the absolute best. I haven't had a team in a while now and I will do my absolute best and a little bit more to make Team Dignitas reach new levels. The hard part will be the communication, none can say for sure how long it will take until we have proper communication, as I feel like I understand 60-70% of their Danish, but it will only grow better with time and with that the team will only grow stronger and stronger.
